Private email,
made beautifully.

A modern email service for people who care where their data lives. End-to-end encrypted between members, no trackers, no ads, open protocols.

End-to-end encrypted
Zero-knowledge servers
Open protocols (IMAP / JMAP / SMTP)
Principles

Three commitments
we don't break.

01

Built on open protocols.

Konomail speaks IMAP, JMAP, and SMTP. Use any client you like, keep your filters in standard tools, export everything at any time. The absence of lock-in is the only kind of commitment worth making.

  • JMAP-first APIs for modern clients
  • Full IMAP + SMTP for everything else
  • One-click export, anytime, all data
02

End-to-end encrypted between members.

Mail between Konomail accounts is encrypted on-device using OpenPGP keys we generate and you can export. Inbound mail from outside the service is stored with zero-knowledge encryption at rest. We couldn't read your inbox if a court asked.

  • On-device key generation
  • Forward secrecy on every send
  • Zero-knowledge at-rest storage
03

Funded by subscriptions, not surveillance.

Konomail has one revenue model: a flat monthly fee. There are no ads. There will never be ads. Your mail is not read, indexed for advertising, shared with brokers, or sold. The business model is the privacy model.

  • One flat monthly price
  • No upsells, no engagement metrics
  • No third-party trackers, anywhere
Why we're building this

Email has been broken for a long time. We're fixing it.

Free providers turned inboxes into surveillance products. Paid alternatives stayed clunky, niche, or stuck in the 2010s. We started Konomail because we wanted the email service we couldn't find — modern, fast, properly designed, run as serious infrastructure rather than a growth funnel.

We're rolling out access in small waves through 2026 so we can onboard carefully and listen to early members. If that's the kind of product you'd want to use, get on the list.

Request access

Be early. Be quiet.

Invitations roll out in small waves. Drop your address — we'll reach out when your slot opens.
